FAQ

Q. I want a record deal, can I send you my demo?

A. Maybe. Playroom is only accepting demos from artists living in the United States at this time. Playroom is an independent label and we do not have the funds to relocate you from anywhere else in the world. Hopefully things will change soon, but until they do it would only be a waste of your time and money sending demos from anywhere else.

Q What kind of music do you accept?

A. At this time, pop, rock, christian, and dance only. If it does not fall under this category, please do not send it. Again, as Playroom develops, things may change and hopefully one day soon we will be able to accept music from any genre.

Q. What happens if you like my demo and want to sign me?

A. You get $500,000 dollars and a new car :)
Unfortunately it does not work like that. Playroom is a small independent label, and like many other indie labels we do not have the funds to give you a sign on bonus (advance). With our team of talented producers and writers already in house, we will work along with you to develop your skills as an artist and performer. Most artists do not have the time, experience, or resources to market their own music. That's where Playroom can help. It's an excellent way for you to concentrate on your craft, and leave the business stuff to us. After we get finished and you sell 1,000,000 CD's, then you can get your new car.

Q. What should I send?

A. A CD or cassette with at least 2 songs, a current photo, contact info, and any other info you feel may be relevant such as a bio, video, etc... Quality is not important.

Q. What if I don't have a demo?

A. No problem. Go stand in the shower (with clothes please), record yourself singing Amazing Grace and God Bless The U.S.A on a cassette or home video, and send it in!
p.s. It doesn't have to be one of these songs. Sing whatever works for you.

Q. I sent you my demo, why haven't you responded!!!

A. If we feel that our services will benefit you, and vice-versa, we will contact you. Please do not take it personal if you don't get a response. It simply means that Playroom Records may not be the best label for you.

Q. I'm only 12 years old, is that ok?
A. With your parents permision, yes.

Q. I still have a question, what should I do?

A. Please e-mail the A&R staff with any other questions regarding
this policy.
Please do not send MP3 files by e-mail. All submissions
will be automatically deleted.
