Local Band to Play at Back-to-school Party

Third Door, a group of local rock musicians, is scheduled to entertain at Sportsworld Skate Center in Vinemont on Saturday, Aug. 7, during the annual Back-To-School Lock-In held at the facility.
Shane Scott, Justin Oliver, and Jason McBrayer make up the group which recently was notified that they were one of the five finalists in a contest sponsored by Teen People magazine and Warner Brothers Records. The contest began in an effort to discover the nation's best unsigned band. With over 6,000 entries, the members of the group were overwhelmed to find themselves in the final five competition.
Third Door will appear in the September issue of Teen People, due on the newsstands on Aug. 6. Readers will be able to hear the top five songs on the magazine's web site or on its "Five Live Phone Line," then vote for their favorite song. Readers may also vote by calling 1-877-808-3423. The winning band will have its song on a compilation album being put together by Warner Brothers.
