Third Door BIO
1998 - 2000

Third Door, a modern rock trio originating from Holly Pond, Alabama,
was formed in March of 1998. The band members included Jason McBrayer, 21 - lead vocals and bass, Shane Scott 22 - lead guitar and backup vocals, and Justin Oliver 22 - Drums. All three have been very good friends since childhood, this close bond is displayed in their music and performances. Third Door has been described as a small town band with a big sound. Their music was moderately tempoed rock, focusing on melody, with a pop hook. The idea for the name Third Door surfaced while the three were rehearsing in a small makeshift area behind the third door of McBrayer's garage in Holly Pond. "Neighbors would sit out in their yards and listen to us," Scott told the Birmingham news, "Friends would hear us about a mile down the road... Now we see crowds out there singing 'Little Crazy' and it's a really good feeling." Rehearsals in the garage eventually led to performances on the road. The trio made waves beginning in 1998 with their Wheelbarrow Tour performing at venues throughout the south, ranging from universities and clubs to fish fry's and cheerleading camps. After a successful road tour the band decided to record. Not having access to a professional studio didn't prevent the band from using their talent and ingenuity to create a ready for release CD. The band pooled their resources and transformed Scott's small apartment living room into a recording studio where their debut CD "Apartment 82" was born and shortly thereafter the record label "Playroom Records". "We had limited funds but the drive to produce our own unique sound pushed us over the top", Oliver said. That unique sound includes 10 tracks, all written and produced by the members of the band. A crowd favorite is 'Little Crazy' a song that recently caught the attention of Teen People readers in a nationwide contest sponsored by the magazine and Warner Brothers Records. Inspired by Scott's admiration of Sarah Michelle Gellar, an actress on the TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", 'Little Crazy' has a chorus that says "I might be a little crazy/ to think of you as my baby/ Just call me a little crazy/ 'cause I see you as my baby". Other favorites includes "Overcoming Disbelief", "Tattoos and Hairdos" and "Garbage Under your Sink."
